Golden Gait Racing Stable (GGRS) and Golden Gait Thoroughbred Training (GGTT) are owned and operated by Reta Underwood (Kentucky licensed trainer) and John Underwood. GGRS’s six thoroughbreds earned $175,000 during 2008-09 by competing and winning in maiden special weight, allowance and small stakes races.

GGTT is located at the outstanding HighPointe Farm & Training Center in LaGrange, Kentucky, which features a six-furlong dirt track, poly-surface uphill gallop track, starting gate, enclosed electric walkers, turnout paddocks and a quiet rural setting. We reside one mile from HighPointe, and primarily participate in Kentucky’s year-round racing circuit.

Reta’s training philosophy provides special considerations for each athlete’s stall, such as a patented moisture-removing floor covering, thermal water bucket and a stall gate that ensures a more open living environment. All feed, supplements and hay are customized to each athlete’s nutritional needs and preferences, and GGTT’s daily groom & care regiment is outstanding.
